Miss Lucy has been my friend since we brought her here in 1999. She was a shy, timid cat who took to me and I felt very honored.
Today, Miss Lucy honored me once again by allowing me to be with her while she journeyed across the rainbow bridge.
She was just some of these things:
-my storm buddy
-my morning shower buddy
-my climber
-my mouse catcher
-my sit on the scale until you check my weight.
She taught my husband to give her wanted she wanted. Be it treats, food, water or turning on the sink faucet for a drink. She taught him well.
Thank you for all you have given me. The light in me honors the light in you.
Oh, Jess, thank you for your words about my dog Laika. And now I see that you lost someone you loved recently as well. Miss Lucy looks and sounds like a true and lovely friend. How strange to not have them near, and be reminded by little things throughout the day... Hope some of your sadness has passed, and you are left with funny, sweet memories.
